Sparks Casino in Nevada Closes Doors For Good

A small casino in Sparks, Nevada has closed its doors for good, and employees did not find out until they reported for work on Friday.

The Mint casino in Sparks Nevada has been owned by Carl Giudici since 1984, but the way he decided to close his doors on Friday was not very honorable.

Employees of the small casino in Sparks reported for work on Friday, only to find a note on the back door that read, "It was a difficult, but necessary business decision."

Bar manager Anita Leach was a bit upset that she lost her job, but took it in stride, saying, "It's a little upsetting. But when God closes one door, he opens another one for us."

Leach was one of a couple of dozen employees that lost their jobs just before the holidays. Luckily for them, they are in a state where they can rebound and find a casino job elsewhere.

The Mayor of Sparks hinted that the building would probably be demolished in time, "The roof is not in great shape, and that is probably one of the reasons why the Mint gave it up because they would have had to do some repairs."
