Casino Regina Recouping Money After Machine Mistake
It has become common practice in casinos for patrons to use ticket redemption machines. Not wanting to wait in line, a player can simply insert their winning tickets into a machine, which, inn turn, will pay the player the amount on the ticket.
A problem arose, however, in a Canadian casino when one of the machines was loaded with twenty dollar bills instead of the five dollar bills that should have been in the machines.
Casino Regina, according to the Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation, was the location of the mishap. A casino employee loaded the machine with twenties. Before officials were alerted of the mistake, $27,000 was what was taken from the machine.
The casino has recovered $13,400 of the money, but is still checking surveillance tapes to figure out who else received the incorrect amounts of payouts. The people they have already found on the tapes have been banned from returning to the casino.
The employee that made the mistake has not been disciplined. Officials have concluded that the mistake was made innocently.
