Cannery Casino Resorts Sold To Australian Based Crown Ltd.
James Packer is continuing to grow his gambling empire. His latest acquisition comes after his Publishing and Broadcasting Ltd. split from Crown Ltd. earlier this month.
Crown announced plans to buy Cannery Casino resorts LLC, a privately owned company. Cannery currently operates the cannery Hotel and casino, Nevada Palace casino in Las Vegas. they also operate the Meadows Racetrack and Casino in Pittsburgh.
"Crown's skills and experience in operating successful locals' casinos will enable us to grow the cannery casino business further," said Packer.
Crown is the operator of the largest casino in Australia, Melbourne's Crown Casino. The company is also involved in Macau, and has shares in other casino companies.
The cannery group is currently in the process of building their fourth casino in Las Vegas. They are also renovating their Pittsburgh casino by moving into a new complex.
