Penny Slots Fueling Revenue Increase in Colorado Casinos
Colorado has almost fifty casinos residing in its state. People are going to these casinos to play the penny slots. That is according to the latest revenue numbers that were released on Wednesday.
The month of November was kind to Colorado. Their numbers increased 5.6 percent over the previous year. $354 million was the year to date total for the adjusted gross proceeds. The AGP is all the money a machine takes in with the cash pay outs deducted.
The penny slots, ironically, is where most of the money was generated. In the month of November, $28.9 million was won in the penny slots. Dollar slots generated not quite the money of their copper counterpart, but they still brought in $11.6 million. Quarter machines had a take of $8 million.
The highest AGP of the Colorado casinos was in Black Hawk, $47.9 million was taken in. That number was up 7.24 percent from last year in the same month. Cripple Creek was second winning $12.5 million, an increase of 2.32 percent.
The Colorado Division of Gaming was the source of all the revenue numbers.
