Fires have become extremely prevalent at casino over the past week. After a fire ravaged the top of the Monte Carlo in Las Vegas last week, another one broke out today at Foxwoods.
The Monte Carlo experienced some damage last week after a fire broke out on the top of the building. Officials have been assessing damage this week to figure out how to move on from the blaze.
Now, a similar scene will play out at a Grand Cedar Hotel in Foxwoods Resort and Casino. A fire started inside the walls this afternoon and it was active for over an hour.
Firefighters from different areas around the region were called in to help fight the fire. Three floors of the hotel had to be evacuated. It is not yet known how the fire was started.
A lounge on the eighth floor was where the fire was discovered, and the fifth, sixth, and seventh floors were evacuated. Water was sprayed onto the roof of the hotel by firefighters.
