Harrah's Could Face Legal Trouble Over Room Remodeling at Casinos
Harrah's is one of the largest casino operators in the world. Even with that, they still must follow rules just like everyone else. That apparently has not been the case with several of their latest renovation projects.
Harrah's has been undergoing some remodeling at several of their casinos. Three of the companies hotel properties and a warehouse have been reported by the Clark County Fire Department to the district attorney's criminal division.
Criminal prosecutors do not normally get asked by the fire officials to review their findings. In fact, this is the first time in over a year that this situation has occurred.
The Rio and Harrah's Las Vegas both came under fire a few weeks ago when fire officials issued seventeen citations to two people who were involved in the remodeling process.
Harrah's has kept a tight lip over the potential problems that it might be facing. It is not yet known whether the violations could be worse than the citations that were issued. They were misdemeanors, but there remains a chance that the situation could be worse than that.
As of now regulators in the states of the casinos have stayed out of the process. That could change, however, if Harrah's is hit with any criminal charges.
