Multi-State Lottery Payout Tops $200 Million

The Mega-Millions Lottery jackpot for matching the numbers drawn tonight will pay $207 million. The lottery has rolled over fourteen consecutive times.

The Mega Millions main jackpot is won by matching five numbers and a sixth Mega number. According to the host website, the odds of any one ticket matching are 175,711,536 to 1.

States that sell tickets for the Mega Millions include California, Michigan, New Jersey, Georgia, Ohio, New York, Maryland, Massachusetts, Illinois, Virginia, Washington, and Texas.

Ticket sales are expected to rocket as the time for the drawing is only hours away.Huge jackpots always draw a spike in sales, although the higher pot does not increase the odds of winning.

The anticipated drawing will occur at ten p.m., eastern time. Sales of tickets will continue until fifteen minutes before the drawing.
