Osmonds Host Miss USA Event at Planet Hollywood

The siblings, most famous members of the showbiz-oriented Mormon family, have not performed together since 2000.

Play the Best Slots at Superslots Casino! The annual Miss USA pageant will be held April 11th, at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. The show, which is co-owned by NBC and Donald Trump, will be broadcast on the network's Universal channel.

Hosting this year's event will be Donny and Marie Osmond. The siblings, most famous members of the showbiz-oriented Mormon family, have not performed together since 2000.

The duo had been featured on "The Donny and Marie Show" from 1976-1979. Their wholesome family style and bright smiles charmed much of America.

Rachel Smith of Tennessee was last year's Miss USA winner. The winner goes on to compete internationally in the Miss Universe pageant.

While much of the outside world is feeling in the mood (economically speaking) for Dust Bowl and Depression-era songs from Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie, Donny and Marie promise to bring their bland mix of "I'm a little bit country... I'm a little bit rock'n'roll!" to Planet Hollywood.

The last time the energy and economic picture was as bleak as it is currently, Jimmy Carter was President, and Donny and Marie were television smashes. Will they make a comback now, distracting us once again from reality? No better place than Vegas to find out...

Was this really about Miss USA or was it about Planet Hollywood? I feel the girls were not given their proper due, time. I feel they were ripped off by all the advertisement that Planet Hollywood got. And to have the owner of PH a judge????? Good grief.

You're right, the show was poor television. We would all be better off reading rather than watching the garbage on tv; specifically, reading Online Casino Advisory!
