Missouri Gaming Commission Trying To Avoid Casinos Moving

The reality is now that any casino looking to move would have to go through the whole re licensing procedure.

Play Now at Slots Plus Casino! Pinnacle Entertainment is opening a $507 million casino complex in December, and the rumor is that they were going to try and move the President Casino in St. Louis once Lumiere is open.

That rumor would be much more difficult to carry out should it become reality after the Missouri Gaming Commission made it more difficult for casinos to just up and move their location.

Any casino looking to relocate would first have to win a competitive selection process, then pass a full licensing investigation, after Commissioners on Wednesday approved the change.

The reality is now that any casino looking to move would have to go through the whole re licensing procedure.

The question had been mainly concerning the states riverboats, and the ability to move them, a question that according to David Welch, the commissions policy and legislative affairs director, "There has been some question whether a person can just move a boat. We are making it clear that it would require relicensure."

The commission also re licensed the President for another year, and granted license approval to Pinnacle's, Lumiere casino.
