Montana Casino Robberies Continue
Montana casinos continue to be easy pickings for robbers as a Hamilton casino was taken down last night.
Police say a man entered the Gold Coin Casino around 11 p.m., pulled a gun, and demanded money from the employees. After securing an unspecified amount of cash, the criminal fled.
Description of the perpetrator was that of a sixty-year-old man, with salt-and-peper beard and moustache. He left the casino on foot.
Four other casinos have been robbed in the state since the first of the year. All involved one or two armed men, taking whatever cash they could get, in the wee hours when operations were slow.
So far, casinos in Billings Heights, Missoula, Lolo, and Helena have been previously robbed. The descriptions of suspects varied in some ways, but most or all of the robbers seem to have worn hoodies.
The Hamilton man sought may be a different suspect, as apparently he is older than the other men sought. Still, either a small gang has been repeatedly taking down the casinos, or copycats have realized what easy targets casinos in Montana are.
Online Casino Advisory has called several times for increased security and awareness in Montana. If precautions are not taken, sooner or later one of these heists will result in injury or death, either to gambling customers or employees. One can only hope this crime wave is eradicated before such a horrible turn of events.
