Las Vegas Gaming Operator Warned by Casino Regulators

Nevada casino gaming authorities told a Las Vegas gambling operator to tighten up or face penalties.

Cherry Red Casino! Las Vegas Gaming Incorporated has about used up its supply of goodwill with Nevada authorities. State regulators warned the casino supplier this week to start demonstrating compliance, or else.

Dennis Neilander, the chairman of the Nevada Gaming Board, made it clear at a hearing he is tired of problems with Las Vegas Gaming. Neilander told listeners he is "at the end of my rope" in regards to the gambling company.

Las Vegas Gaming supplies slot machines and other games to casinos, as well as operating bingo halls. Its operations spread over twelve states and thirty-eight tribal reservations.

The board has had a string of problems with Las Vegas Gaming, especially in regard to conducting background checks of potential employees.

The comments came at a meeting to discuss the licensing of Las Vegas Gaming president and CEO Jon Berkley. Berkley promised the state auditors that changes have been made in company policy to conform to state regulations.

Despite Neilander's warning, Berkley was recommended by the board to receive a license. However, the decision is not official until approved by the entire Gaming Commission considers it, probably by the end of the month.
