Las Vegas Casinos Prosper While Atlantic City Casinos Struggle

"These numbers are well above expectations for the month. Normally we see a lull, but strong baccarat play really helped," said Control Board analyst Frank Streshley.

Play Now at Golden Casino! The rest of the country is catching up to Las Vegas. That is what is being muttered from critics of Sin City. This week, Vegas let their numbers do the talking to those critics.

A state report released on Tuesday revealed that the city's casinos broke records with the money they won in October. Total winning equalled $1.16 billion. The previous record was $1.15 billion set in July.

"These numbers are well above expectations for the month. Normally we see a lull, but strong baccarat play really helped," said Control Board analyst Frank Streshley.

His statement was referring to the tremendous losses that were seen at the state's Baccarat tables for the month of October. The game was the big revenue winner in Las Vegas for the month.

Expansion is happening at many of the state's casinos, meaning that the revenue numbers are most likely only going to grow in numbers.

The rest of the country may be catching on to the example that Vegas has set, but it is clear from the numbers that nobody in the U.S. is anywhere near the money generated.
