NFL Football Player Settles Gambling Debt
According to recent reports from our affiliate news teams in the Las Vegas area, NFL football player Adam Jones, also known as "Pacman" by his fans, finally settled a large gambling debt with a Las Vegas casino. The Las Vegas district attorney says NFL football player Adam "Pacman" Jones has paid a $20,000 gambling debt to a casino. If he did not make the payment and settle the debt, he could have faced possible felony charges.
As you know, Pacman Jones is a highly touted defensive back and kick-return specialist. This is not his first run-in with the law either. Last year, he missed the entire 2007 NFL season due to a drug problem.
The DA says that Jones found a way to pay off his debts within 24 hours of a criminal complaint being filed, and that the case is now apparently closed.
Court documents filed Friday showed the DA was seeking a felony arrest warrant for the 24-year-old Jones unless he made good on three casino markers he received last Sept. 3 at Caesars Palace.
Jones paid a total of $21,675, including $1,675 for DA's office processing fees and penalties.
