Casinos in Oklahoma Might Have Been Ripping Off State Government
The state of Oklahoma could be looking for casinos to collect money from shortly. Two gaming machines have been classified incorrectly according to a judge.
Judge Noma Gurich, of Oklahoma County, ruled in a lawsuit that two gaming machines which have been operating as Class Two games, are actually Class Three machines.
The ruling illustrates that the state could have lost a substantial amount of money because of the incorrect classification. American Indian Tribes and the state have a compact stating how much money the state should receive from machines.
If the games are ruled as Class Two, no money needs to be turned over by the casinos. If the machines are Class Three, then six percent of the revenue from those machines goes to the state.
The games that were wrongly reported were Reel Time Bingo and MagaNanza. It is not yet known how much money the state has lost. Whether or not the state can go after lost money from establishments that offered the games is also something that has not yet been determined.
