Vegas Strip Takes New Meaning as Penthouse Eyes Casinos
After much coverage by Online Casino Advisory of the building buzz that Las Vegas casinos may be inching toward a symbiotic business model combining the best of gambling and strip clubs, an announcement came Sunday that Penthouse magazine is shopping for a Strip casino to purchase.
Marc Bell, CEO of the company built around adult magazines, foresees strippers working inside the hotel, and Penthouse girls working as dealers and entertaining gamblers in the casino. Bell said, "I would to imagine at some point we would be able to, as entertainment gets more risque on the Strip, as Vegas gets more back to its roots."
The Girls of Glitter Gulch strip club made news by applying for a license to install gambling machines in the same room as lap dancers. While Vegas loves gambling and naked women, there has to this point been a strange timidity at bringing the two together.
But strip clubs have recently made deals with casinos, sending their girls to lounge half-naked as eye candy at select pools. Now comes Penthouse, with its well-known brand, looking to buy while prices are at their lowest.
Bell noted that he is actively looking at casinos, and clearly wants an impact location. He said the company would only consider "...a place where we can have the most impact ... only if it would be a significant property."
Perhaps right around the corner, considering the recent debate about Nevada gambling age, could be Hustler's Barely Legal Casino, where turning eighteen gives the right to gamble or strip, depending on preference.
