Odd Mishap Forces Philadelphia Park Casino To Close Today

"We are going to reassess the situation, reinspect everything with fire officials in the early morning with the hopes of opening."

Play Now at Golden Casino! Everyday people with ordinary family businesses are more apt to think that unfortunate circumstances only affect their business. Thursday night, Philadelphia Park Casino showed that even top companies have accidents sometimes.

Philadelphia Park Casino had to shut its doors for a few hours on Thursday night after a water main break occurred last night.

The damaged water main is not located inside the casino, but officials were fearful that the break could have done damage to the sprinkler system. They took precautionary measures and evacuated the casino within a few hours of the break.

The number of people that were led out of the establishment was roughly 100 employees and 1,000 patrons.

The casino will remain closed for the rest of the day Friday while the Fire Marshall checks to make sure that everything is safe. Races at the track that were scheduled for today were canceled.

Marketing Vice President of the casino, Darlene Manzo, had this statement, "We are going to reassess the situation, reinspect everything with fire officials in the early morning with the hopes of opening."

Small business owners are always wondering why small problems only happen to them, and never to big, successful operations. Philadelphia Park is proof that even when all the resources are available, it still can not prevent the losing of business from unforeseen mishaps.
