Indian Casino Makes Outer Space Trip Promotional Prize
The Seminole Coconut Creek Casino in Florida continues to amaze and entertain with the clever promotions management dreams up. This time, the casino is offering a flight into outer space as a grand prize for its latest event.
During a four-month period begining Monday, the casino will draw five names from the registered members of its players' club. The five winners will then be able to pick two DVDs from a set of twenty, each containing an image. The images will then be displayed on a screen at the casino; if any contestant picks two that match images from space, that person wins.
The contest will be repeated during the summer up to four times total. If no winner is declared by the end of the time period, all contestants will be recalled, and redrawings with wild cards will take place until a winer is found.
General Manager Steve Bonner also used a space promotion when the U.S. Navy shot down a rogue satellite. A t the time, he had a bullseye painted on the casino roof, and offered a million-dollar giveaway if a piece of satellite debris hit the target.
Asked why he continues to use space as a theme for promotions, Bonner grinned and said, "Because even the sky is not the limit at Seminole Coconut Creek Casino."
If the winner decides not to take the trip of a lifetime, the casino will give a cash reward instead of $110,000. The value of the trip is considered to be roughly $200,000. Of course, this is assuming one of several companies projecting passenger capability in the next couple years delivers; but when they launch, one lucky gambler will join the few humans to leave the atmosphere.
