Station Casinos Confident Business Model Will Best Economic Worry
Station Casinos is preparing for the imminent opening of its Aliante Station Casino November 11th. Although much of the surrounding Las Vegas area has seen casino revenues in general decline, Station has reason to believe their business model will continue to draw customers.
From the beginning with Palace Station, Station Casinos has preferred to target local residents as well as budget-conscious tourists. By offering luxurious settings without the astronomical prices of Strip casinos, Station has drawn gamblers who prefer to avoid the Disneyfication of the Las Vegas casino giants.
Tourists who wish to vacation in plush hotel rooms, shop extensively, and eat gourmet meals while perhaps gambling for a little will still stay at the Strip, where many rooms are waiting empty.
But gamblers who come to play, and still like to be taken care of by their hosts, will find Station Casinos and Aliante Station to be a refreshing step back toward the way Vegas used to run.
Over half of Aliante's 2500 slot machines will accept penny play. MRKT, the hotel's steakhouse, will serve cuts like the ritzy restaurants in big-name casinos, but at a price as much as a third less.
Tara West, a Las Vegas resident and frequent slot player, said, 'I can hardly wait to try Aliante Station. It's close to my house, and I'm sick of the way casinos on the Strip gouge me pricewise for every service, when I'm already playing their slots."
