Has Nevada Realized Strippers and Casinos Belong Together?
Some have suggested that in heaven, one can gamble in strip clubs while drinking and enjoying a great meal, but authorities on Earth will never allow these things to co-exist. Well, one small Las Vegas club has designs on making progress to this goal.
The Topless Girls of Glitter Gulch club has applied with the Nevada Gaming Control Board to install fifteen slot machines on the premises. The board had been thought likely to reject the proposition, as they would consider the club not a suitable location for casino gambling.
Instead, the board decided further investigation would be necessary, and assigned its staff to further review the circumstances of the strip club and its application.
Perhaps this is just a means for the board members and their employees to extend their time ogling the topless girls, all the while meaning to deny the request. But the investigators should ask themselves if they are enjoying their time at Glitter Gulch; and credence should be given to the club owner, Granite Gaming Group, which already runs two casinos on Fremont Street.
So, while a cynic might feel the inquiry is being stretched when the ultimate response has been determined, one can hope that the board will see that Granite has already demonstrated responsible ownership, and the topless atmosphere is conducive to enjoyment. Why should forms of entertainment be available only at separate locations? Maybe we can take a step closer to heaven on Earth.
