West Virginia Begins Era of Casino Table Games
West Virginia has not had much to brag about in the way of tourism over the years. Now they have an attraction that surely will bring travelers into the area. That attraction is full casino gambling.
While many states around the country have began to legalize casinos that have slot machines and poker tables, West Virginia has moved on to the next step in casino gambling.
This week West Virginia casino watched as people poured in to check out their new, full service casinos. Blackjack tables and Roulette wheels are just a few games that are causing a buzz in the area.
43 games are being offered at Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack. That is to go along with the 2,000 slot machines that the building is home to. Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack, and Resort also began offering the new games this week.
"This is so exciting. "I've lived in West Virginia for thirty five years and I never thought I would see the day where I can play Blackjack here and not have to travel to play the game I love," said Byron Kelos, 57, of Chester, West Virginia.
The ribbon cutting ceremony for Wheeling was attended by hundreds of patrons.
