Bodog Online Casinos Start Accepting Canadian Customers

Bodog online casino products, including slots, sports betting, and poker, are being made available to Canadian residents for the first time.

The Bodog group of online casinos and sports books have long avoided taking Canadian players for fear of messy legal complications, but the Internet gaming operator has decided to follow the example of the British Columbia Lottery and begin taking Canadian players for online casino gambling.

Canadian patrons of online gambling will now be able to access the Bodog sites offering poker, sports betting, and casino gambling, including both slots and table games. The BC Lottery decided last month it would begin to offer Internet casino play within the next few months.

Bodog operations in the US are run by the Morris Mohawk gambling group, and regulated by the Kahnawake regulatory group outside Montreal. But Bodog Europe has the Canadian rights to the brand, and decided to follow its introduction into Europe by adding the Canadian market.

This means Bodog.com online casinos remain locked to Canadians, who must register at Bodog.ca to use the brand's gaming products.

"We're extremely excited to be able to bring the unique Bodog experience to Canadian players," said Managing Director Keith McDonnell in a written statement. "Canadians are passionate sports fans and are extremely savvy consumers."

Bodog promises the Canadian-facing site will offer increased focus on events Canadians are partial to, such as NHL hockey and Canadian football.
