Expert Gaming Analyst Demands US Internet Gambling Regulations
Studies around the world are confirming what tenured gaming analyst Gordon Price has been telling us for years. Price, the gambling expert at CasinoGamblingWeb.com with a long history of anticipating industry problems and trends, has told anyone who would listen that the only way to control the shady element in online gambling is to regulate the industry.
Price spoke out recently after Representative Spencer Bachus and Focus on the Family's Chad Hills had combined forces to pressure Congressmen in the Financial Services Committee to vote against Barney Frank's HR 5767, a bill designed to negate the UIGEA and regulate the online casino business.
"The legitimately licensed and regulated online gaming sites are kicked to the curb, while the unlicensed, unregulated companies are left to thrive. And then they (Bachus, Hills, and their followers) congratulate themselves as if they have accomplished something!"
Price illustrated how unregulated companies may continue to wreak the havoc the demagogues proclaim to fear; the admittance of minors, the usage of corrupt practices, the hidden cheating, even money laundering, as these entities operate out of the reach of U.S. law enforcement. However, regulating the industry would allow reputable companies with transparent policies to exist.
"If regulations were put in place corrupt casinos would not be allowed to advertise on TV or on websites, number one," Price said, "and number two, if Americans had a choice to go to corrupt casinos or reputable ones, they would choose the good ones, of course, and the bad ones would quickly die out."
CasinoGamblingWeb and Price hand-delivered a petition to every Conressional member with over 10,000 signatures asking that their freedom to choose be restored, along with detailed analysis from both pro- and anti-gambling groups, both of whom came to the consensus that the only realistic and healthy approach for the United States was to regulate the online gambling industry.
Price also cited the success the United Kingdom has had with regulation, and the decision by other countries such as France to phase in regulation.
As Price explains, the American people should demand the repeal of the UIGEA, and the institution of regulation. "Those religious conservative groups, led by ill-informed zealots, are influencing their Congress people strongly in the wrong direction, and they don't have the understanding and foresight to know that they are creating the exact same evil environment which they are trying so hard to prevent."
