Sex and Gambling Just Excuses to Go Online

Intel, the manufacturer of computer chips, conducted a survey that showed 48 percent of women and 30 percent of men prefer to be on the Internet to having sex.

While researchers try to define and learn more about problem gambling and compulsive sex, there is a chance the Internet may be the true addiction. As reported at Online Casino Advisory, some psychiatrists believe Internet addiction may already affect tens of millions, and now a survey says that almost half the population prefer being online to having sex.

All along, would-be censors have thought that the Internet allowed people to spend undue amounts of time being lured to sites featuring online casinos and pornography. But new figures may suggest that it is the Internet itself that is the addiction, and sex and wagering are just ways to fill the time consumers are drawn to spend online.

Intel, the manufacturer of computer chips, conducted a survey that showed 48 percent of women and 30 percent of men prefer to be on the Internet to having sex, and could more easily do without sex in their lives than stay offline. Almost two out of three said they'd give up television before the Internet.

Just as sociologists worried asbout long hours spent absorbing television broadcasts, now there is concern about time in front of the computer. However, if it is expressed that people prefer the most advanced entertainment technologically available, it becomes a simple truth.

As for giving up sex, perhaps the researchers needed to specify that would mean sex with the person of choice, allowing a distinction between the wife of ten long years and Angelina Jolie. It's all in the questioning. In the meantime, why debate? Internet gambling while watching online pornography can satisfy enough desires to seem like heaven.
