Public Rejection of Lindsay Lohan Makes Longer Jail Stay Good Bet
Lindsay Lohan was sentenced last week to a 90-day jail stay for failure to abide by the terms of her probation. While gambling speculation at online casinos was that Kindsay is likely to do much less than 90 days, recent developments seem to indicate Lohan may unwittingly force authorities to keep her behind bars longer than anticipated. As soon as Lindsay and her entourage had left the court, the Los Angeles Sheriff's Office offered a statement saying that "most female inmates" in Lindsay's situation would serve about 23 days of the 90 ordered. Critics of the celebrity-influenced department predicted the statement was the beginning of a road leading to a short stay for Lohan similar to the bare hours served by Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton in their respective cases.
But a public outcry against any leniency for Lindsay arose, inspired by the revelation that the whole time the former "Mean Girls" star weeped and told the judge of her respect for the court, her fingernail was inscribed with a message of contempt for the judge, using the f-word.
According to a poll by People magazine, 93 percent of its readers have no sympathy for Lindsay Lohan, and think she desrves to go to jail. Only a meager seven percent say jail is too harsh for Lohan.
Lindsay also continues to blame others, trying to hire a new lawyer as if her problem was inadequate representation. Rather than try to find ways to speed her release, Lohan is reportedly seeking to appeal, a process deemed doomed by legal experts.
By enraging the public with her antics, and refusing to attempt to mitigate her circumstances, Lohan has made bettors gambling on a longer stay in jail feel secure in their position, while bets placed on her avoiding jail seem lost already.

| Send her up the river for 90+5 for contempt, and anything else that can be come up with. Celebs are pampered babies when it comes to law enforcement. If they really wanna let celebs out early, hit 'em where it hurts, fine 'em 1 million for each day early. Then they might start taking it seriously. | |
