Online Casinos As Popular As Hookers At Malaysian Massage Parlors
Massage parlors around the world have a reputation for being covers for prostitution. But, in Malaysia, it seems gambling might be more popular than sex, and proprietors have found a new use for the shady businesses.
The city council of Kuantan, one of Malaysia's largest cities, has threatened to revoke the licenses of massage parlors operating as either brothels or casinos. Apparently, local storefront operations are secretly running cybercafes, used to permit online gambling.
Patrons of the establishments have found the Internet casino access to be as much or more of a draw as naked women engaging in sex. The problem has grown to the point that council head Datuk Azizan Ahmad says action needs to be taken.
Azizan said of the massage venues, "If they conduct activities other than those listed in their licenses, such as gambling and prostitution, we should cancel the licenses."
The council agreed that there should be a zero-tolerance policy. Violators will not receive fines or suspensions, but rather a total revocation of their permit to operate.
Customers of the gambling whorehouses were sought for comment, but were too delirious from pleasure to remark.
