New Online Casino Portal at Mansion.com Misses the Mark
Today, Mansion.com released a new version of its customer portal that creates two separate sites, MansionCasino.com and MansionPoker.com. The new site design branches casino and poker into separate domains, accessible from the main portal at Mansion.com. According to spokeswoman Kathryn Farrell, the new website design gives customers the ability to navigate between their games of choice with better ease. Members will enter via Mansion.com, then will have the opportunity to choose between 3 top navigation links, Casino, Poker, and Sportsbook. The Casino and Poker tabs will link to the new mini-sites, while Sportsbook will continue to live under the main domain.
Despite their tremendous efforts in creating a better look and feel with optimized navigation, the company still has a long way to go. Initial feedback on the new portal has been less than average.
"The new sites will not win a webmaster award for greatest design", said John Fogarty, an independent web site design consultant based in Vancouver.
"It took over 45 seconds to load the homepage of MansionPoker.com, thats simply unacceptable in my opinion. Forcing members to navigate across separate domains is not user-friendly."
The rollout of the new design today completes a 6 1/2 month project to revamp the companies main portal.

| I thought maybe you were overexaggerating so I check myself and sure enough you're right. Each site takes a good long while to load, but the design is nice, imho. It's probably just a slow server issue that they will get fixed at some point, I hope. | |
