Online Casino Patrons Denied Mastercard Deposit Option
Mastercard is once again successfully blocking payments by US customers to gambling sites, including online casinos and poker websites. The company had previously been unable to establish a coding identifying the payments it did not want to process, but has found new methods which presently refuse attempts to make deposits at gaming sites. The credit card company has made prior moves to block online gambling transactions, but operators have been able to react to coding systems and identify themselves as uncoded transactions. The last blockage of gaming deposits by Mastercard was solved by the online gaming community within two months.
Still, although gambling sites may once again find a loophole to place their charges successfully, many Internet gambling sites will find potential US patrons unable to fund accounts.
Visa is still presently a viable deposit option, as that company hasn't solved the coding problem to escape uncoded transactions. But that may only be temporary, as it is sure to capitalize on Mastercard's methods.
Credit card companies are acting in advance of the implementation of the UIGEA online gambling ban, scheduled to begin June 1st. Congress is attempting to remove the ban ands replace it with regulatory laws, as the ban has already proved problematic, blocking legitimate transactions such as state lottery sales.
