Obama Plan For College Football Great For Online Casinos
Chris Berman of ESPN conducted a short, sports-oriented interview with Barack Obama Monday night. The interview, along with a similar talk with John McCain, aired at halftime of Monday Night Football.
At one point, Berman asked Obama what one thing he would change about sports if he could. Obama responded that he was tired of the present system for determining a national college football champion.
Obama said he was irritated by computer input and polls deciding which team was best. He said the change he would make is to institute an eight-team playoff system, leaving one team victorious on the field.
The playoff system would be a major boost for online gambling sites and Las Vegas sportsbooks. Big games of national consequence are obviously bigger draws for players than intersectional bowl games. A series of playoff games would allow many more chances for gamblers to wager on meaningful matchups.
So, revenue and gambling interest would be increased. But what about the average college fan, who may or may not wager at Internet casinos?
Well, an ESPN poll today showed as of five p.m. that 76 percent of respondents preferred a playoff system, while 24 percent liked the current one-game championship.
It seems people agree with Obama's call for college playoffs. As Online Casino Advisory sports analyst Edmund Crumley says, "This is truly change we need!"
