Online Casino Challenges MIT Geniuses to Blackjack Play
Now that the story of the MIT blackjack teams that card-counted their way to fortunes at Las Vegas casinos has reached a mass audience through the movie "21", an online casino is challenging the former MIT students to play against its software.
BackgammonMasters, an online gaming site featuring both casino and board games such as poker, backgammon, and blackjack, has developed a new blackjack platform, complete with a tool called the basic blackjack calculator, and has reached an agreement with a group of the MIT card players to test the system.
The basic blackjack calculator helps players figure the odds to make the best play, and even helps card counting. However, the MIT players will find new challenges they didn't face in live casino play, including random shuffles, numbers of decks, and extensive software research.
To celebrate the new blackjack platform, BackgammonMasters also will hold 21 blackjack tournaments, in which tables will compete against one another for prizes and top scores.
New players are invited to try their skill, and bonuses awarded for signing up friends to play.
