Super Bowl Prop Bets Great Wacky Plays at Online Casinos
It's Super Bowl time again, and that means online casinos and sportsbooks are posting not only game lines, but a host of proposition bets that make gambling on the big game that much more fun and exciting. Sites like BetUs have already placed a number of unusual plays for patrons to examine, with the even crazier ones to debut as the week goes on.
The regular line is the Pittsburgh Steelers over the Arizona Cardinals by seven, and the over/under total is at 47. But other available plays involve scoring by quarters, odds on longest and shortest field goal, game MVP, total sacks, total punts, and more.
"A smorgasbord of i8nteresting wagers are available at online gambling sites, " says Online Casino Advisory sports analyst Edmund Crumley. "While the truly crazy, points-scored-by-Kobe-Bryant vs. points-scored-by-Arizona-Cardinals type bets haven't appeared yet, there are plenty of others to pique gamblers' interest."
A few that stood out to Crumley include total penalties, total first downs, and total number of players attempting a pass. "Total penalties is set at over 11 1/2 -130, or under that number for even money. Ilike under, as the referee team assigned to the game has looked favorably on the Pittsburgh style of play in the games they've worked.
"I also like total first downs under 38, even at -150. Isee this as a game of big plays, not long ten-minute drives. The yardage might be there, but not the sustained four-yard plays that result in lots of first downs.
"The number of players attempting a pass is set at 2 1/2, with under -210. To me, this is asking if Hines Ward will throw on a gadget play. There isn't really anyone else likely to throw other than the two QBs. With Ward a little banged up, I think Pittsburgh avoids the trickery they used on Seattle a few years ago. Take the under."
