Playtech to Offer Sports Betting to Online Casinos

Playtech, the online gambling software developer, has added sports wagering to the gaming platforms it supports for online casinos. Operators licensed to use Playtech software will now be able to adds a sportsbook to their Internet casinos.

Playtech now offers its clients a full line of gaming products, including slot machines, casino table games, bingo, and poker, as well as featuring both land- and mobile-based gambling. Playtech recently announced a deal with Marvel Entertainment to use comic superheroes as themes for new slot machines.

Playtech had also just completed a purchase of assets from sports gambling software company Player2Players. The expansion to offering sports gaming systems to its online casinos makes full use of the new acquisitions.

Playtech has moved aggressively in response to moves by competitor CryptoLogic. Where CryptoLogic has concentrated on structural reorganization and development of new slots using inspirations licensed from DC Comics and Paramount Pictures, Playtech has diversified its products.

The addition of poker and sports betting to Playtech software will bring new customers and create cross-selling opportunities, says CEO Mor Weizer.
