Online Casino Group Promotes Responsible Gambling Awareness
The Remote Gambling Association, the chief industry representative for European online casinos, will distribute a video demonstrating how the online gambling industry acts to protect patrons. The video will be unveiled in London today to mark Responsible Gambling Awareness Day.The video shows both members of the public and formers of public policy methods and technologies used by Internet casinos in guarding consumer information, warding against problem gambling, and identifying and blocking visitors too young to gamble.
"We hope our five minute tutorial will provide (lawmakers) with a quick insight into how operators ensure that for the vast majority, gambling remains a safe and harmless leisure activity,” said Clive Hawkswood, CEO of the RGA.
The RGA also made a donation over $16,000 to Gambling Therapy, which is the world's first international online help service for compulsive gambling.
The video goes to the heart of much of what Hawkswood has voiced in his role as the front man for the RGA. Hawkswood frequently references the need to not only administer protective programs at online casinos, but to also educate the legislators and general public of the efforts made.
