Online Casino Betfair Assists Snooker Against Gambling Corruption
Amid rumors that snooker may be the latest sport to suffer from gambling corruption, World Snooker has made moves to prevent any appearance of dishonest matches.
The international governing body of snooker has entered into an agreement with online gambling operator Betfair to exchange and share information, casting a bright light on any suspicious wagering activity.
The organization already had such an agreement in place with the Association of British Bookmakers. Sir Rodney Walker, chairman of World Snooker, said, 'I am pleased to have been able to negotiate this additional agreement with Betfair, which will reinforce snooker's continued commitment to preserve the integrity and transparency of our sport."
Snooker has been a betting game for participants since its inception, leading to hustle play. To paraphrase Paul Newman in "The Color of Money", snooker excellence is not about excellent snooker.
Snooker had been considered among the easiest games to fix, as no one seems to understand the rules or how to win. However, everyone agrees that it is fun to whack the balls around and see where they go.
