Station Casinos Partner With Sona Mobile
Station Casinos, Incorporated, and Sona Mobile Holdings Corporation anounced today they have entered into an agreement to jointly develop and promote applications and products featuring Station Casinos' sports and racing wagering systems. In a broad step to expand into internet, mobile, home, and kiosk markets, Station will allow Sona to distribute the new products worldwide.
Station Casinos may be used to test new concepts and products, and Sona will market them worldwide, except in the local Las Vegas area, where Station retains rights. Sona will receive fees for development and licensing, and revenues from race and sports bets will be divided between the two.
Sona Corporation uses its Sona Gaming Platform to give customers a single-screen version of gaming content that includes slots, table games, video poker, and race and sports wagering. Station hopes that Sona will allow its sportsbook to expand to customers who, where legal, may choose to wager from their home, the track, or any location.
Shawn Kreloff, chairman and CEO of Sona, stated, "This is a partnership centered around bringing a state of the art experience to Station's customers in the race and sports book, at home on the internet, and on their mobile device."
Station appears intent on conquering an internet market beset by ever-more restrictive United States federal laws. Although the overseas market is ample, surely Station must feel the U.S. government's attack on the privacy and freedom of its own citizens must be nearing the end of its course... perhaps in November?
