Florida Casino Gambling News

Many lifetimes ago gambling in Florida consisted of taking long trips to Indian reservations in order to play bingo in large smoky rooms. Cigarettes were the main attraction because the Native Americans could sell them without having to pay taxes and as a result they were dirt cheap. But in the late nineties and the turn of the 21st century changes started happening. The Seminoles figured out that they could offer slot machines that would trigger a win based on an electronic bingo card. This legally skirted the no-casino games law and bingo type slots moved into Hollywood and Coconut Creek in Broward County, Florida.

Then, after several failed attempts, the voters in Broward county approved Vegas style slot machine games. The Seminoles then won a decision by the Federal Interior that allowed them blackjack and other casino card games. The legislature didn't like that, but they have since reached an agreement and gambling in Florida, especially in Broward County, is going strong.
